Information for Shelters

Would you like LOLIN to rescue a dog from your shelter?

LOLIN nearly always has a wait list of approved Labs waiting for foster space to open up. As foster homes become available, we match them to the dogs on our waiting list. If you have a dog in your shelter you would like us to consider for intake, please fill out our Shelter ID form below.

Please include photos or the dog’s Petfinder or Facebook link. Due to the sheer number of requests for help we receive each day, we must have photos of the dog and a temperament test before our intake committee will approve a dog for intake.

If we do not feel the Lab is a good fit for our rescue (all of our dogs are in private homes where they are required to get along with other dogs and often with cats and children), we will let you know. We can also recommend other rescues who may be able to help.

If we do approve your dog for intake, our intake coordinators will keep you updated on how soon we can arrange a transport to our foster home. Any help with transportation is much appreciated!

Temperament and Handling

We know shelters are often pressed for time and resources, however the more information that is provided about the dog the more likely we are able to intake it. We receive many more requests to help needy labs than we can ever accommodate. The more information we have the more likely we'll be able to match a dog with an appropriate foster.

Please test for general handling, dog to dog (preferably with more than one dog), and food/resource guarding or aggression.
